I didn't see this thread was running so posted this in GH Discussions!
Thanks once again to Andy and Jan who give up so much of their time organising walks for all us sighthound folks.
The Ricky. walk had 44 dogs and a couple of new members which was a good turnout especially as there were so many walks all over the country and also Fathers Day. Oh, and included it that are two greyhounds who joined us from the local Dogs Trust and have been waiting for homes for far too long. Philip and I were also pleased to meet two families who have just rehomed two of the other greys we'd met at DT while doing our own sort of Meet and Greet there to promote the breed.
This is a good venue as we get to meet up with Anne and Edwina plus a few others who live further south and find it hard to get to our other walks. See lots of you next week at Chipperfield

Someone talk to Philip because our laptop is so old it wont load what you all can see! One day he'll get out to buy a new ......what, laptop or tablet. We're so far behind with technology!

Well Dave, as you're asking! Speaking for myself I am neither anti or scared of Facebook (or any other advances in technology) and in fact can see the benefits for people who have family/friends who live far away, it is an excellent way for them to keep in touch. However, I don't feel the need to check up on what my friends and family are up to day in day out; when I do want to know what they have been up to I phone/e-mail them or meet up for a social face to face chat.
I also lead a busy life with work, house, family, greyhound of course and hobbies so no time for constantly looking at Facebook to see what everyone else is doing! I much prefer the intimacy of the forum discussions as it is specifically with other greyhound owners.
