It’s that time of the year!
It’s time to start planning for the Great British Greyhound Walk 2013!
In 2012 we had 67 registered walks plus 6 micro walks and there were 2224 greyhounds, lurchers and sighthounds walking. Truly amazing!
The GBGW is a fantastic opportunity for greyhound and lurcher owners around Great Britain and Ireland to come together at simultaneous walks they have arranged to celebrate retired hounds and show everyone that they make great family pets.
If you weren’t involved last year but you want to have a go this year you could make it …
The start of a new social walking and owner support group.
An event on your walking groups calendar
Part of a bigger fundraising day or a PR event to promote the homing of greyhounds
Or just a one-off event for a group of owners, large or small
When is it?
Sunday 23rd June 2013
What time?
We’d love everyone to walk at 10am then we would truly have x thousands of greyhounds walking together at the same time, plus it’s not too hot at that time and leaves time at the end for activities.
Where is it?
At as many locations as possible throughout Britain and Ireland: we already have over 35 planned walks!
How do we get involved?
You can find your nearest walk by checking on our web site
www.greatbritishgreyhoundwalk.org.uk
If you already run greyhound walks and would like to have a walk as part of the GBGW then simply register your walk. The form you need can be downloaded from the website above.
If you’ve never run a walk before but are interested then contact us by email, post or through the GBGW website and we can send you our guidelines for running a walk. We’ll give you all the help we can to make your walk as easy as possible. Last year there were lots of first time walks which have now become regular events, so beware, it can be addictive!
Once your walk’s registered we’ll keep in touch with regular updates

Are you going to a Great British Greyhound Walk, are you going to buy a bandana?
Just a heads up that stocks are limited and they are selling very fast!
And you can give them a bit of 'bling' (tasteful or not) and enter them in our competition to win a bag full of amazing goodies!
Shop here for red or blue? Or both!

Very pleased to announce that I added 3 more walks to the Great British Greyhound Walk map this morning, that brings the total to 63 now, very pleased, so worth the hard work the team and local organisers put in

GBGW is now only 25 days away!
Our bandanas and wristbands are selling fast (over 300 so far!) and when they're gone, they're gone so if you wanted one and haven't ordered it yet, don't delay!

Have tried to access the list of 63 walks, but when I click on the word map it takes me to America. What am I doing wrong? I want to see a list of the 63 walks to decide which is closest for me. Thnx

Will send some blank flyers with your promo cards Bev, they'll be in the post on Monday as they're all at work and as much as I love my job I won't be there again till after the weekend.
