For the past four years New Years Day Walks have seen well over 200 dogs come together, with their owners, for walk at Hylands Park in Chelmsford. 200+ Greyhounds really is a sight to behold, each year we are always amazed by how many people come with us to walk their hounds, even last year when it bucketed down!
As usual this year there will be two walks - one long at around 1 hour, and one short at around 30/40 minutes.
This will be a GreyhoundPLUS walk so all of you that have another breed of dog that you normally have to leave behind can bring them along this time.
Day / Date / Time - thursday 1st January 2015 - midday
Meeting Point - Hylands Park, Chelmsford, carpark 2 Writtle Gate, off Greenbury Way (A414 Writtle by-pass), we should have a dedicated parking area this year so please watch out for HiViz parking attendants
Address of walk n/a
Nearest available postcode (please check this if using for your SatNav) - CM1 3RL

Dogs and humans may want to skip breakfast as there will be plenty of treats for both
It was quite wet and muddy when we went to do the recce the other week so wellies, gaiters and waterproofs will be needed but we will be sticking to footpaths as much as possible.
Mrs T and I have both tried to contact the council regarding dedicated parking area but have had no response unfortunately (it seems that the lady that Jan was dealing with went on her Christmas break without handing it over to somebody else), so we aren't able to reserve spaces, but you won't be able to miss two motorhomes and a white van

Weather is looking very good for Chelmsford today
Let hope all the hard work put in by the volunteers pays off (we will never forget last years drenching!) and it is as it deserves to be a humdinger of a walk.
Have fun all - sorry me and the dogs can't be there :/

A lovely day and a lovely walk. Thank you so much to everyone for the effort that must have gone into organising this walk. Now have two very tired doggies. Happy New Year to every one.

Lovely walk and great pictures, so good to catch up with those we don't get to see very often and meet new people too. All the dogs were very well behaved (apart from one of mine). Thanks for organising everyone

Myself, Lurch and Jet had a great time yesterday - both hounds are suitably exhausted today! Was lovely to see so many dogs in one place. I think Jet definitely enjoyed sharing her birthday with everyone
Thank you to the organisers.
