Well done to Janet and all the GBGW volunteers, who are putting so much effort into making this a truly national (& international) event to be enjoyed by hounds and their families everywhere

Latest up date, 85 UK walks, 14 Global walks ... we're looking in a very good position to have more sighthounds walking on GBGW day day than ever before.

Would just like to thank everyone who participated and organised our GW walks, just an update on the project ...
In the UK:
88 main walks
16 mini walks
3360 sighthounds walked
215 non greyhounds walked
1 human dressed up as a dog
Globally:
26 walks
529 sighthounds walked
78 non greyhounds walked
Feedback has been 99.9% wonderful, lots of money was raised by organising groups for their sighthound charities and people are already asking to register new venues for 2015. We have a participant survey which we'd love people to complete Survey Monkey GBGW 2014
The GBGW Backroom team have been amazing - working extraordianry hours in the last weeks and particularly yesterday, pulling off the coordination of an exceptional greyhound event.
Without blowing our own trumpet - this all orginated at Greyhound Walks and has been nurtured and grown by us to be a very prestigous day on the sighthound calendar. The trustees have had 100% faith in what we were doing so I would like to thank them and all our GW volunteers for their support.
Love this picture from the York walk ... someone waiting for their participants medal

A huge well done to everyone involved, we know how much work goes on in the background that nobody ever gets to see.
Thank you all for all your efforts.
Time to put your feet up for a few weeks before the planning starts for 2015

It really is a brilliant event and we all had a great day. Big thank you to the GBGW team from me and all the Brandon walkers who I am sure would want me to say it for them x

We had a great walk down in Rainham/Hornchurch. Not sure how many dogs were there, I know Mary did text the numbers through. It was somewhere in the late 20's-30's and we had five of the RGOA kennel dogs with us. At one point all five of them (all black!!) were in a pond together. Rebel who has been at the kennels for several years, was up to his neck in water and had the biggest grin on his face I've ever seen. All dogs behaved brilliantly and were a credit to the kennels.
Thanks to all those behind the scenes who have organised such a great event.

Looking forward to seeing all the photos of a lovely morning.
For the 'non-Facebookers' among us, where will they be posted?

A big thank you from me to everyone that attended the Braintree walk. Hope you all enjoyed it We didn't make it to the Booking Hall Café as planned as it was too hot, but we did have a visit from BBC Radio Essex! Someone at work said there was a piece about the walk in the Witham & Braintree Times (not to be confused with the Braintree & Witham times!). My first attempt at doggy baking went down well too, although the kitchen stank of sardines and liver for a couple of days.
A big thank you to Mum and Dave for all your hard work, I don't know how you both do it on top of full time jobs and dogs, cats and family to look after/support. And a huge thank you to Chelsea for being the inspiration behind it all xxxx
Roll on GBGW 2015. Sue and Pennie have very kindly offered to help me as I'll be mid wedding planning by the time the walk organisation starts
